How to Setup Linksys Router IP Forward with Static IP Address

Step 1


Type Router Address: http://192.168.1.1
to Access Main Page.

Input username: admin  (default)
Input password: admin  (default

Step 2


Click on Setup tab

Select Static IP drop-down menu and enter the following info:
WAN IP Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway Address
DNS (Required) usually two is given to you

The info above is provided to you by your DSL/Cable Internet provider

Step 3


Click on DHCP tab

Check Enable DHCP (this is useful if you do not want to set up static IP info on every computer that shares the internet connection)
Starting IP Address: 100 (this means you can assign IP address to individual computers from 2-99, from 100 to 250 will be used in the DHCP IP address pool)
Number of DHCP Users: 150 (this means up to 150 computers may share the DHCP IP address pool)
Click Apply when done.

Note: You may chane the numbers to fit your need. Home users may only want 5 IP address in the DHCP pool.

Step 4


Click Advanced tab

Then Click DMZ Host (DeMilitarize Zone)

Enter the IP address of the DVR/Surveillance system
This allows all internet traffic to go directly to your DVR/Surveillance system

In this case, the DVR/Surveillance system is on IP Address 192.168.1.10

Click Apply

TIPS


If you use Dynamic IP Address with Cable Modem

Make sure your Cable Modem is on battery back up and should not be shut down. Everytime it is turned off, you will get a new IP address. If this is the case, you will need to find the new IP address number and enter it into the Lycast Systems > Webcam Server > Server Setup > Assign Gateway IP Address

The best solution is to get a Static IP Address
